Though some things never go according to plan, they seem to work out even better for the long run. Initially when we came to Grand Rapids, we were looking at building a team of equals for a ministry outreach group “The Heist”. Instead of having a group to share the vision, we found we had those wanting to support it only. The goal was never to have people waiting on our direction, but those who would take the reign with us and build a great foundation.
Soon after another chance seemingly arose. But it came to light quickly that we were only wanted to add our support, not share a vision/goal. The realization of this fact, and that it caused others within the three thousand member church to say “why can’t we?”, showed us that this too was not the people or the place for which we came to Grand Rapids.
The best part in all of this is not feeling defeated. We have confidence, vision, and a beautiful daughter due end of April. Life is good, God is better.
Myca is working closely with a couple groups of ladies and pouring out her gift all while working, pregnant, and in college herself.
Dave has achieved promotions and accolades at his current job, which is how it always goes for him. While not at work, Dave is getting ready to launch his music to the internet.
And though it may not all have gone according to the plan we saw, we are grateful to be right where we know God wants us.
